Please download and print out your own cue sheet for Sunday's ride directly from the DCCenturyRides blog, http://dccenturyrides.blogspot.com/. Just click on "Cue Sheets" (on the left side of the page), and you'll find it there! If you're unable to print the cue sheet yourself, let me know and I'll bring a hard copy to the ride start for you. I won't be bringing extra copies of cue sheets to the ride start unless you email me directly and advise me that you're unable to print out your own. I haven't had time to generate a Garmin GPS file for the ride, but here's the link to the interactive RWGPS map: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1186413
Please don't try to use the so-called "cue sheet" that appears on the left side of the RWGPS map!

SUNDAY, MAY 20, 2012
"CYPRESS SWAMP CENTURY," starting from Southern High School, Harwood, Maryland. **MEETING TIME 8:00 a.m.** We haven't done this ride in 3 years, and I've had to make a few changes in the route due to changed road conditions. It's always been one of our favorite southern Maryland rides, featuring lunch at Stoney's on Broomes Island (where the crab cakes are SUBLIME). Unless you're in a rush, there should be time to visit the Battle Creek Cypress Swamp after lunch and stroll along the boardwalk through the prehistoric bald cypress trees. (See http://calvert-county.com/cypress.htm) The terrain is gently rolling, with a few hills dotting the landscape here and there. Pretty horse farms, tobacco barns, lovely bay views, and maybe even some peacocks! 100 miles, with short options of 58 or 88 miles. Note, however, that the short options don't go to Stoney's. Estimated elevation gain 4,000 feet. (Don't believe RWGPS.)
SOUTHERN HIGH SCHOOL, 4400 SOLOMONS ISLAND ROAD, HARWOOD, MARYLAND
From DC Beltway, go East on US50.
In about 11 miles, take exit 16 and go south on MD424 Davidsonville Rd.
In about 3.5 miles, cross MD214 in Davidsonville (MD424 becomes Birdsville Rd. )
In about 3 miles, go right on MD2 @T.
In about 2 miles, right into high school parking lot.
Please park in the large main parking lot, NOT in the small faculty lot.
Note: there are restrooms at the Citgo/Subway just south of the school at the intersection of MD2 and Harwood Rd.
